Anger as a Message, Not an Enemy

We often treat anger as a negative emotion we need to get rid of as fast as possible. But at its core, anger is a message telling us something important to us is at risk, or that a boundary has been crossed.

Behind almost every wave of anger there is usually something deeper, hurt, fear, feeling disrespected, or a sense of unfairness. Anger is often the visible layer sitting on top of what we truly carry underneath.

Instead of suppressing anger or exploding with it, the better question is, what is this anger actually trying to protect in me? That question turns anger from an outburst into information we can actually work with.

The next time you feel angry, try asking yourself before reacting, what do I truly need right now?
