Broken trust does not return overnight, but rebuilding it is not impossible either. It takes time and consistent actions, not just words.
The first step is full ownership from the side that broke the trust, without minimizing or over dramatizing it. The other person needs to see the hurt genuinely understood, not just heard.
Then comes the stage of consistency, keeping small promises before the big ones, being transparent about what you do and do not do, and having the patience to accept that trust rebuilds more slowly than we would like.
If you are in the process of rebuilding trust, remember that every small consistent act counts, even if you do not see its result right away.
